scientist cant work out what ingredients are in a kebab blocks of meat there only supposed to contain lamb but the processed ones can contain chicken beef pork and rat meat and in one test there was an unidentified meat so even Muslims eating kebabs can be going against there religion by eating pork it is so heavily spiced you cant taste what types of meat your actually eating and a single doner kebab can contain over 3000 cals and 8 grams of salt in one serving

Ever wonder how those big slabs of meat they slice gyro's from are made? This is a Brit clip showing how they are made. In England they call them "Kebabs" and serve them on a pita, but with toppings unlike our tradtional Mediteranean ones. Sorry the clip isn't framed well, but it's still quite interesting.

Doner has nothing to do with Gyros in both taste and looks. In fact even the ingredients are almost totally different, spices, kind of meat etc. The only thing those two have in common is the rotating way of cooking. @tooba1980 - yes you can use that. My experience has been that there is a difference in taste. Mainly due to the quality of ground meat. The ground meat available in the market usually has a lot of fat. Here is what I usually suggest, try it both ways and you be the judge. You will notice that for Shami Kababs also I use meat cubes rather than ground meat.

Basically they had the kebab flavoured product and linked it with One of FOTC's most popular songs in "The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room)" where the biggest laugh is that Jemaine chats up a girl home and takes her for a kebab. In a lot of songs Bret typically sings the main high pitched bit while Jemaine chips in with short low bits - like this ad does.

this is the worst kebab recipe i have ever seen. I don't know why people call this seekh kebab, there no real video on youtube which demonstrates seekh kebab, these are fried kebabs and recipe is really bad. Not traditional. hey i tried your recipe and it was very nice. i followed your original recipe but i added another 1/2 tsp of cumin powder. i pan fried the kebab instead of grill on the charcoal like BBQ, so it's a bit dry but overall it was good. next time i will use BBQ set and maybe can brush the meat with ghee or margarine.

I have no sympathy for them either - shocking is the word. You don't even know how to cook to eat healthily. A pot of Dolmio and some pasta is not exactly complicated, throw in some minced beef and you've got a bolognese, get a Lloyd Grossman sauce some rice and some chicken and you got a curry better then many indian restaurants. Its not hard to eat good varied food at home these days.

I love the way you prepared the spices, however this is not really seekh kebab, its more like fried kebab! Seekh kebab MUST be made on the seekh for it to be called seekh kebab. 2 Egg is not really required by adding it you are taking away from the taste. 3. Fried Onions should never be used, cut onions into small pieces dry them out by taking out all moisture out and then mix, anyway i guess different people have different technique. I just like more traditional technique better.

You can find mango powder (amchur, amchoor) at your local Indian grocery store. Fried onions are are also available there. They are ready made crisp onions. They are a big time saver, but if you can't find it, you can saute some onions in oil until brown.
